SENIOR FUTSAL RULES

 

 

TEAMS:

1         Teams of 8 players, with 5 players on court, with 1 as the designated goalkeeper.

2             Unlimited substitutions can occur any time.  The player on the court must leave the playing arena before the substituting player can enter the field of play

3             The goalkeeper can be substituted any time after confirming with the referee, except for a penalty.

 

GENERAL:

1             No barging.

2             No kicking (of opponents)

3             No shirt holding

4             No pushing

5             No holding on nets

6             No slide tackling at all

7             All fouls are direct free kicks

8             If a player is fouled when in an obvious scoring position a penalty will be awarded.

9             No player (defender or attacker) is allowed in the goalkeeper’s D with the exception of the goalkeeper.

10           If a defender deliberately steps into the D it is a free kick 5 meters out with a wall allowed.

11           If an attacker steps into the D it becomes the goalkeepers ball.

12           The ball cannot be played by a player laying on the ground with the exception of the goalkeeper in his/her own area.

13           At kick off the ball can go in any direction but there is no shooting directly at goal allowed.

               The opposing team must be 5 metres from the ball at kickoff and the same distance applies to all free kicks.

14           If the ball hits the ceiling nets it is a free kick to the other team except when a goalkeeper makes a save then the ball stays in play.

15           The goalkeeper cannot hold the ball in their hands or under their feet for more than 5 seconds.

16           A player cannot stand on a motionless ball for more than 5 seconds.

17           The game consists of two 15 minute halves.

18           There is no offside.

19           The referee can award a penalty, at their discretion, if a scoring chance has been denied illegally by the defending team.

20           No player can deliberately grab, jump on, or use the nets to propel themselves.

21           Yellow card (caution), red card (send off), system will be used. A sent off player cannot be replaced and may be subject to further penalties as decided by management.

22           Violence or serious aggression of any kind towards players or referees will not be tolerated and will be dealt with by management.

23           Footwear – non marking flat soled sport shoes to be worn during play.

24           Hats/caps and jewelry are not permitted on the field during play. All players must present to the referee prior to playing to ensure compliance.

25           Late start penalties can apply once the referee starts the game clock. 1 goal to the opposing team for every 2 minutes late at the referee’s/management’s discretion.

26           Handballs, with the exception of the goalkeeper inside the D, are free kicks.

 

FREE KICKS:

1             Contact when tackling from behind or any tackle that contacts the opposition player.

2             Slide tackling or competing for the ball whilst on the floor.

3             Body contact is forbidden.   Where players bump, the initiating player will be penalized.  This includes an attacking player running through a defender.

4             High feet is considered dangerous play and is not allowed.

5             When a ball is deliberately held in a corner position the player in control has 5 seconds to release the ball from this position or be penalized.

6             Grabbing or jumping on any net in the playing area.

7             Ball kicked or thrown into roof.

8             If the goal area is entered by any player other than the goalkeeper, or a ball inside the goal area is played by any field player.

9             Goalkeeper taking the ball back inside goal area.

Note:

1             All free kicks are direct and can be scored from.

2             Opposition players must be at least 5 metres from the ball on all free kicks.

3             Free kicks must be further than 5 metres away from the opposing goal area.   The referee can use discretion determining free kick placement and positioning of defending players.

4             Advantage can be played at the referee’s discretion.

 

GOALKEEPER:

 

1             Cannot drop the ball from their hands outside the D and play the ball with their feet.

2             They are not allowed to cross the halfway line.

3             They must distribute the ball from inside their area with their hands if they receive it with their hands or stop the ball with their feet and pick it up.      

4             They are allowed to stop the ball with their feet and play the ball out of the D with their feet but are not allowed to drag the ball back into their own area.

 

               

 

BACKPASS:

1             You can pass back to the goalkeeper using your feet twice.  Goalkeepers must distribute the ball the way they receive it ie. pick it up then must throw it out or stop it with their feet and must kick it or dribble it out of the D.   Once the ball crosses the halfway line or touches an opposition player the backpass count starts again.

 

KICK-OFF:

1             Games are started and re-started from a kick-off in the centre of the playing area.

2             The kick-off can be in any direction.

3             Defending players must be 5 metres from ball until kick-off occurs.

4             Offensive players cannot cross the half-way line until kick-off occurs.

5             Goals cannot be scored directly from a kick-off.  Shooting directly from the kick off will be penalized with a free kick to the opposition.

 

SCORING:

1             A goal is scored when the referee determines the ball has completely crossed the goal line between the goal posts.

2             All players can score including the goalkeeper.

 

UNIFORMS;

1             All teams must have matching shirts.            Goalkeepers may wear track pants with a different coloured shirt. All players must wear shin pads covered by long socks.  NO

               EXCEPTIONS.

 

FORFEITS:

1             A team forfeiting any game without giving 24 hours notice prior to competition will be required to pay for their forfeited game and their next scheduled game prior to entering the playing area.

 

COMPETITIONS:

 

Our new league will be played through till the end of March 2012 along with the League Cup and

Trophy Cup competitions.  Game points for league matches will be 2 points for a win, 1 point for

draw and no points for a loss.  No bonus points will be awarded for goals.

 

LEAGUE CUP:

 

The League Cup will have 4 rounds and then a first round knockout based on cup ladder positions

 ie 1 v 9,  2 v 10 etc.  The next knockout rounds will be drawn from a hat.

 

TROPHY CUP;

 

This competition is for the teams knocked out from the League Cup.   Finals for both cups will be as

follows:  last 2 in the League Cup and first v second on the Trophy Cup ladder.

 

CUP COMPETITIONS:

 

When we start the knockout rounds all playes are cup tied to one team ie no fillins.

 

LEAGUE COMPETITION:

 

All teams will be in one division and the champions and runners up will be decided by positions at end

of season.

 

 

COMPUTERISED SCORING SYSTEM:

 

Games will now start on time from the first kick off at 6.05pm  All teams are requested to be on time or they will lose out on game time.  The system allows for 2 minutes at half time and 3 minutes turnaround.  Only those preparing to play the next game should be on the court during turnaround time for warm up.

 

GAME TIMES:

 

Our latest game time is 9.35pm and we would ask that all teams be prepared to play the occasional late game when necessary.

 

PUBLIC LIMITED LIABILITY INSURANCE:

 

All senior players must be covered under the centre’s insurance.  This will cost each player

$15.00  from the 1 September 2011 and will cover the period to the 31 August 2012.

 

 

PLEASE NOTE:  There are no player registration fees.
